Why should we choose Beyond Bliss?

The truth is you only get 1 chance to do it right. If you are dealing with someone that is willing to film all day long, with multiple operators, give you all of the raw footage, DVDs, etc., etc. for $1000, you might want to take a step back and see what is missing. Most of the time they are showing you a 2-3 minute highlight reel with the best of their best shots, and it will rarely include audio from the ceremony or reception. Your wedding video is one of the only items you get to take away with you from your wedding day. You can’t go back and get more footage, or better audio once it happens. Are you going to really trust your uncle/first cousin twice removed to do that for you?

What should I do if I am on the fence about wedding videography?

A wedding film allows you to further see the emotion of your day, as well as revisit your day over and over, featuring moments you probably missed becuase you were too busy enjoying the most special day of your life.

How far do you travel? What are your travel fees?

In short, we are willing to go anywhere.

All of our packages include 75 miles from Rutland, Vermont (150 round trip miles). Any distance further than 1.5 hours from Rutland we will get a hotel/AirBnB for the night before and night of the Wedding so this is one portion of the travel cost.

We also charge the standard IRS rate (.58 per mile) for any mileage outside of the 150 round trip mileage.

Do you offer a payment plan? What forms of payment do you accept?

All of our contracts are broken into a 4-payment installments.

In conjunction with those installments we offer a flexible, customizable payment plan, which can be broken up into up to 12 payments, with the final payment due 2 weeks prior to your booking day.

Due to an increase in processing fees, we do not accept credit cards directly. You may use Venmo to send funds using a credit card if needed. We also accept cash (in-person) or checks by mail.

How soon should I book you guys?

We typically book out approximately 6-12 months from your wedding. Popular wedding weekends (Columbus Day, Labor Day, etc..) are typically booked even further out.

How many videographers will be present at my wedding?

Typically we film weddings with 1 lead videographer. We are currently in the process of adding members to our team. During your consultation we'll discuss how many videographers will be at your day and who they are.

How long will it take to receive my finished wedding film?

Depending on the time of the year it can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months to receive your wedding film. In 2020, we averaged around 1-2 months.

Does Beyond Bliss carry insurance, and are you licensed as a business?

Yes! We carry all the proper licensing and insurance for the states we do business in, and are covered so you don't have to worry!

Can we meet and talk about my ideas for my wedding film?

Absolutely! We want to meet with you and get to know you! It helps us, and even makes our job easier when we can sit down and get to know our couples and really listen to how they envision their big day! It’s our job to tell the story, so the more we can learn about you, the better!

Do you have recommendations for other great wedding professionals?

Of course we do! We have filmed weddings for a few years now, and have met some great people on the way! Reach out to us and we can point you in a direction to some amazing people!

How would you describe your style — more documentary, cinematic or a mix of both?

Our editing and shooting style is more of a cinematic type of story telling. We tend to edit somewhat chronoligically, but not necessariy always. We listen and look for key moments or elements that happened on your big day to emphasize in your film. This could include moments such as the officiants message during the ceremony or speeches at the reception. We try to make sure that the small moments you, or your guests might have missed find their way into your wedding film.

Do we get to choose the music?

We have access to a music licensing company that we can use to purchase licenses on songs. We try to find songs similar to your favorite bands or songs, however, due to the legality, we may not be able to directly put a song in an edit at your request.

What does your camera and equipment look like?

We currently shoot on Sony Alpha series cameras. Our main cameras that we use are Sony A7Siii's. We also bring lights to help in darker situations that we sometimes leave up the entire reception. To capture your audio during your ceremony, we have a lapel microphone for the minister, as well as the groom. These microphones pick up the bride’s audio for vows. We also work with your DJ or AV company to plug into their board to record anything that goes through speakers. During the reception we plug in audio recording devices to the in-house sound system, or your DJs board to get great audio of your speeches and toasts.

What if I don’t like certain parts of my film?

This is always a sticky subject. At the end of the day we want you to be happy. But if we don’t have a policy in place, sometimes things can get out of hand with moms, mother-in-law, and family watching the film and wanting changes. After we deliver your film, we give you 1 week to proof the film and give us a green light before we send you a final export, as well as post on social media. If you have any basic changes (add a shot of grandma, remove a shot of your brother’s ex girlfriend, etc.) we make one round of changes at no charge, at up to 1 hour of editing time. Any extensive edits (audio changes, timeline changes, etc.) are billed at an hourly rate set at the time of the changes. You are hiring us to be the professionals, and we take that very seriously. We know you are trusting our judgement to make the best film possible, with all of the context we have. We have seen all of the footage, we have listened to all of the speeches, and are going to put together the most flattering video possible.
